I had an intention to add a system to my would stove. However I was going to use a radiator. But now I can use a bucket instead and eliminate the pump. It would be good instead of waking up at night and add wood.

Shouldn't the coil be inside the tube? You're losing much of the heat straight out the top.

Very interesting video. It's great you were honest with the results. I'm thinking about adding something like this to my HWS so that when the grid is down, I can still have hot water. 👍

If you use better, more heat resistant tubing to connect to it, you can heat 20L (I don't use the freedom units) in about an hour.. at least from a "traditional fire" And use a wider tube while you're at it.. and a bigger container (you can easily double the volume), have the bottom hole at the very bottom of the container, and the top one just under the water level, when it's filled. And a lid. The steam pressure will push the cold water through even faster. And once you've done this, you can fire it up as much as you'd like.. the rapid boiling is good, at least for speed. I'm a European Scout, and we bring a lot of "redneck" gadgets to bigger jamborees, so I've seen my fair share of water heaters, those were just made to go under the fire, so we could cook for the 40+ people in just our camp. No need for pumps when you've got physics! Oh, and put it a bit higher up from the stove, but don't over do it

Now you have the idea try making it out of clay.... Dont forget to rap with car exhaust tape before the first fire.... For off grid and survival you need a large tank and large rocket stove..... The rest you can think of for yourself.... But you will need A 12v pump...... Even with the small rocket stove......

Good build, the only thing I would do differently if I made one would be to run the wires through the cap too, no extra holes in the can, and could restore to normal with a new cap.

The only issue about not going out the cap is you can remove all of it. If you came out the cap you can remove everything easily for cleaning, etc.

Not stupid, Japanese baths use a similar method to heat water in a community hot tub, wash before getting in, and rinse with water from a bucket then enjoy the warm soak.

TO USE A POWER BANK TO WELD, WHAT I NEED IN THE FIELD LETS SAY WE HAVE A small 110 arc welder conected to the power supply, but keep the power supply connected to a 110 power plug meanwhile I am welding. that way we are using the power bank meanwhile is charging, that way I dont need to much weight on the power supply, is that posible, THAT WAY ITS GOING TO BE A NON STOP WELDING DURING THE DAY, I MEAN WITH A 60% DUTY CICLE, is there anyting like this outhere

Just make the return pipe twice the diameter of supply pipe. As well the coils need to expand towards the top if you insist on using coils. Hot water expands. This is the reason you had it boiling and not flowing well. Don't need no stinking pump or a checkvalve, none of that crap.

This works the same as the old range stove setups in the first half of last century (and possibly further back) that had what they called back boilers. Once the fire was lit in the range the hot water could travel upwards to the hot water cylinder/tank upstairs without a pump. This was before immersion heaters inside the same copper cylinders became the standard way to heat water if one didn't have a gas boiler and electric pump.

I'm about to make your life a bit easier... At my job (piledriver/dock builder) we use steel tubing for many things, but mostly for boat lifts. I'll tell ya EXACTLY how we keep that tubing from running around when we are cutting/welding/drilling holes.... 🧲🧲🧲🧲🧲🧲 Just a few magnets in the right places will work wonders.... And no, they don't get in the way, because they are magnets and can be placed on the under-side of your workbench. Yw

If the coils were on the inside of the pipe would make more sense for faster heating. You still could use the top to heat a frying pan or what ever you wished with the right design.

The cold water as to be in bottom and hot water in top. Hot water always go up. If connect the other way it will build pressure and it will not allow to reffil the pipe. And can make boom.
